Do you have tons of passwords and PINs and want to manage them in a convenient and secure way? KeyRing is what you need. KeyRing is an application that allows you to carry all the private passwords and numbers in your iPhone or iPod Touch in a secure way. You'll be able to access your passwords whenever you need them if you carry your iPhone always.
Main features:
- You can store your confidential information such as online login ID/password, card numbers, PINs, or any textual form of data.
- Your data is stored in an encrypted form by the master password of your choice. This would still protect your data even if your iPhone were lost or stolen.
- To prevent your data from being lost, KeyRing provides its own backup mechanism in addition to the standard data backup provided by iTunes. This additional measure can be a life-saver when your iTunes get broken for some reasons. The new email backup introduced in 1.4 is super convenient.
- Two types of item is supported: login passwords and secure note.
- For convenience, KeyRing auto-fills the login forms with your user ID and password in the web pages.
KeyRing Viewer
KeyRing Viewer is an important companion application that comes for free to KeyRing users. It's a stand-alone application available for Mac. It plays two important roles:
- It allows you to backup your KeyRing data to your laptop or desktop computers. It gives you peace of mind because your KeyRing data is safe even though you lose your phone or your iTunes mess up your backup.
- It also allows you to view your KeyRing data. The backup KeyRing data is also secure because it's protected by your master password the same way it is in KeyRing app on the iPhone.
How to download KeyRing Viewer
- Open KeyRing in your iPhone or iPod Touch.
- Go to the Settings screen by clicking the icon at the bottom right corner.
- Select 'Download KeyRing Viewer' menu and follow the instructions.
- You'll receive email with the download link
System requirements
- KeyRing Viewer for Mac works on Intel Macs with either Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or 10.5 (Leopard).
- KeyRing Viewer for Windows is now discontinued. It's not available any more.
KeyRing Viewer for Mac
Just unzip the downloaded zip file and you're ready to run the viewer app. There's no installation procedure.
Troubleshooting
Trouble 4 After starting KeyRing Viewer, I went to the Backup/Restore screen on KeyRing, but it couldn't find any KeyRing Viewer on Local Network.
It means most likely that your iPhone is on 3G network, not on your WiFi. Please change to your WiFi network.
